Everything you need to get your clock running perfectly — from unboxing to advanced settings, explained simply and clearly.

01
What's Inside the Box?

Before you begin setting up, let's confirm everything has arrived safely. Open your package and check for the following items:

1 × LED Digital Clock
Your main clock unit — Model DS-6659, DS-6617, or DS-5515. The display face should be clean and undamaged.
1 × USB Power Cable (DC 5V)
Used to connect the clock directly to any USB charger or wall socket adapter. No adapter included — any standard phone charger works perfectly.
1 × This Setup Guide
The printed quick-start guide. You're reading the detailed online version right now — this covers everything in much more depth.

02
How to Power On the Clock

Your clock supports two power methods. Both work perfectly — it's simply a matter of where you plan to place the clock and whether you have a power socket nearby.

🔋
Method 2 — 3 × AAA Batteries

Open the battery compartment on the back. Insert 3 AAA batteries, carefully matching the + and markings inside.

Ideal if you want to place the clock somewhere without a nearby socket.

Note: In battery mode, the display dims after 10 seconds to save power. Clap or tap the table — any sound above 60dB wakes it up.
ℹ️
The 10-second sleep in battery mode is by design — not a defect. If you prefer an always-on display, USB mode is the better choice.

Common Problems & Solutions

Having trouble? Most issues have a simple fix. Tap any problem below to see the solution:

!
The display is not turning on at all
If using USB: Check the cable is firmly plugged into both the clock and the charger. Try a different USB adapter — the clock needs DC 5V.

If using batteries: Re-insert the batteries ensuring + and − match the markings. Try fresh batteries if yours may be flat.
!
The display suddenly went blank or very dim
Completely normal in battery mode! The clock dims after 10 seconds to conserve battery. Clap your hands or tap the table — any sound above 60dB wakes it instantly.

If this is inconvenient, switch to USB power and the display stays bright all the time.
!
The clock is showing the wrong time
Long press SET for 3 seconds and redo the time setup from Section 3. Also verify that 12H or 24H mode is selected correctly — a mix-up here can make the time appear wrong.
!
The alarm is not ringing at the set time
Check three things:

1. Alarm is ON: Confirm it shows AL-ON (not AL-OF).
2. Correct frequency: Ensure d-7 (daily), d-5 (Sat & Sun), or d-6 (Sat only) is selected for today.
3. Time is correct: Verify hour and minute are right. AM/PM matters in 12H mode.
!
Temperature is showing in the wrong unit (°C vs °F)
On the normal time screen, give the − button a single short press. This toggles instantly between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Press again to switch back.
!
The date is showing incorrectly
Long press SET to enter setup, navigate to the Month and Date fields, correct them, and press SET to save. The clock exits automatically after the last confirmation.
